What is it that you and your folks’ first WANT?

If your answer is that you want Mom and Dad to receive the care and attention they need in the loving, familiar surroundings of their home, then you are on the right track with AmeriPride Home Care. Read on!

Keep in the mind the following thoughts:

  • Your folks may be concerned about burdening you with their needs, challenges, and interests.
  • Your folks are more than likely proud of you and how you manage the needs of your family with the demands of your job?
  • Although caring for Mom and Dad is a labor of love, it is labor.  Overtime, juggling caregiving with work, raising children and managing your household, marriage, and other duties all increase your risk for feeling overwhelmed, depressed, chronic illness, and a decline in your overall quality of life.

So how do you approach Mom and Dad about the benefits and values of having AmeriPride Home Care keeping them company while caring for  their needs?

  • Living and enjoying the loving, familiar, and safe surroundings of their own home is what 79% of older adults WANT.
  • 98% of married couples WANT their spouse to live and be cared for in their home.
  • 95% of all adult children aspire to make their parents’ WANT of living happily and safety in their own home WORKABLE.

The best partnership between you and your senior loved one(s) is one that balances between needed support and independence. Ask your parents what areas they feel they struggle with.  Them opening up, and you being supportive will help establish a trusting relationship.  The struggles they list can be solved by employing AmeriPride Home Care.  We are the support allowing folks to maintain their independence.

Involve your loved ones in the process of hiring AmeriPride Home Care, and then planning their care schedule.  This process gives your parent(s) the sense of control and independence while still able to receive the assistance needed.

Sure, your family may be uncertain of receiving assistance, which may be that they don’t understand the need.  Use examples of potential risks of living at home. An example: a decline in vision or hearing, there are risks of falls, injury, hospitalization, and then possibly followed with time spent in a nursing home for rehab. AmeriPride Home Care will benefit you and your folks.

What are you seeing that has made you think you and your folks would benefit by having AmeriPride Home Care be your solution?

  • 1) Is the home looking maintained?

What is the Costs of Home Care vs. assisted living or nursing home?

First choose the type of care that fits your and your folks’ lifestyle. During or after a healthcare crisis or injury, many adult children are forced to search for different care options provided by assisted living and nursing homes. However, employing AmeriPride Home Care may actually prevent hospital admission, ER Visits, and/or a stay in a nursing home.  FACT:  20% of all hospital admissions return to the hospital within 30 days when there is no care team in place in the home.

Genworth in their annual “Cost of Care Survey,” cited that home care costs less than other options like adult day care, assisted living, and skilled nursing home.

  • National average cost of home care per hour ranges only $10-$36 and has only increased by 1% during the last five years
  • The average cost to live in a private room at an assisted living in SW Missouri is $155 day = $4650 monthly
  • The national average for a private nursing home room can cost up to $948 per day. The average annual cost in Springfield ranges from $85,000 to $90,000 for a room that is less than 144 sq. ft.
  • Assisted Living and Nursing Homes in the past five years have risen more than 4%

Can AmeriPride Home Care counteract trips to the ER, Hospital Stays or a move to a Nursing Home?

Not only is AmeriPride Home Care an affordable lifestyle option for your family members, we can actually help reduce the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and illnesses.  Our companions may assist with activities of daily living. They will promote a safer, healthy environment by eliminating obstacles that will cause falls and injuries.

For many loved ones and their family, keeping track of medications can be challenging. Our companions and the medication reminder program encourage timely dosage and curtails the likelihood overdosing, both of which can lead to more serious health consequences.
